Description: With the recent increase in the size and transport efficiency of container carriers, the container loading capacity per ship has increased dramatically. As a result, container stowage is becoming higher and more diverse, and container securing systems are becoming increasingly important to ensure safe maritime transport. Among container securing systems, lashing bridges and container posts play an important role in ensuring safe maritime transport by safely securing containers on deck and preventing them from falling or collapsing during voyage. Reasonable design standards for lashing bridges and container posts have been expected and demanded by the shipbuilding and shipping industries. In this regard, the Society conducted a study on design loads and strength assessment methods for lashing bridges and container posts and, based on the findings, is publishing this Guidelines to specify specific requirements for the strength of lashing bridges and container posts.
This Guidelines specifies procedures for carrying out the following (1) and (2):
(1) Strength assessment of lashing bridges
(2) Strength assessment of container posts
